Ideas for Creating a Deck of Cards

‍    One of the self-assigned projects I work on from time to time is a deck of fantasy playing cards. I did the first one as part of an Adobe 9-day Photoshop Challenge. This mood board was the first assignment in the challenge that ended last Friday.  Ended up making the grid in a faster way than suggested by the demonstrator. That faster, wiser way also spawned a new tutorial with two easy ways to make a bride template. See the Video page to view it.

‍    I found the vintage fantasy images on Pixabay, drawn by Prawny. I’m sure I can populate 12 facecards easily with this rich collection of images. I’ve finished the queens and am now working on the aces. I’ve included the draft version of the ace of diamonds on the right. Don’t tell anyone, but I start the aces in Illustrator and finish them in Photoshop, daily because I don’t know Illustrator well enough to do all I want. I know, I know — go ahead and finish that Udemy course. ;-)

‍    Take care and stay well.
